Holiday Message from Dr. Nolan
12/4/01
I would like to wish everyone a happy holiday season. This
year has been a very difficult year for most people. I hope
and pray that next year will be better.
Please give us a call if you would like to get your teeth
cleaned before the end of the year. Also, if you have dental
insurance remember that you must use your dental benefits
or lose them. Dental benefits do not carry over to the next
year. So give us a call and Paula can help you to get the
most out of your dental insurance.
Our office is offering a bleaching special until the end of
the year. Call Paula to find out about it. Additionally, we
are offering a 10 % discount on all cosmetic dentistry. So
if you have been putting off getting those porcelain veneers
or those white fillings now is the time to do it.
We are in the process of remodeling our office. Please excuse
the mess. The office will be a nicer place to receive dental
treatment when it is completed. The designers continually
make us update the office every five years.
If you have not seen our web site at www.dentalchickens.com
check it out. We continually update the information. If you
have any dental questions I am sure that you can find the
answer on our web site.
Have a happy holiday.
Sincerely,
Dr. Nolan & staff
Detecting Disease before Devastating Damage
Finding
disease is often an inexact science. Sometimes it is just educated
guess work. However, technology is giving us a better view of
disease at an earlier stage. The DIAGNOdent laser system is
a new breakthrough in dental disease detection. Before its use
about fifty percent of cavities went unnoticed.
Dr.
Nolan uses the DIAGNOdents laser light to harmlessly,
and precisely, find disease. One of the most difficult areas
to detect disease is on the chewing surfaces of teeth and under
and around metal fillings. Because we can now uncover disease
in these areas more consistently we can prevent significant
tooth loss.
The
DIAGNOdent laser makes it possible for us to lift the veil on
what used to be hidden areas of disease. All this is done safely,
painlessly and without exposure to x-rays.
Dental Chickens Find Health - Hope - Happiness
Why
focus on people who are afraid of a dental visit? There are
tens of millions of people in the United States who avoid going
to the dentist just because of fear. This translates into millions
of people with serious dental health problems and others who
continue to be unhappy with their appearance.
Dr.
Nolan has developed a dental practice that incorporates the
latest treatment amenities, sleep-sedation
therapy and comfort-based technology
so pain and stress have become a thing of the past. You can
get the health and smile you deserve.
Our
patients say it best. Im no longer afraid.
I dont live in agony any more. My perspective
on dentistry has completely changed and now I have a gorgeous
smile. Dr. Nolan assured me everything would be
fine. I wasnt disappointed. I should have
done this long ago. Now, go view life
and smile transformations and read complete patient
testimonials. Or, call us to set up a smile consultation

A Contribution to Our Heroes
Our
greatest sympathy and compassion goes out to all the families
and friends of those who have been directly or indirectly affected
by the terrorist attacks on the East Coast. We offer our most
heartfelt prayers.
It
is time for personal reflection and spending more time with
our spouse, significant other, friends or children. Work is
important but is secondary to our family and loved ones. Life
is much more pleasurable when you can share it with others.
We
have been told to be more aware of the people around us. The
way we travel is permanently altered. Some of the freedoms we
took for granted have been taken away from us. We must strive
to take back those freedoms while respecting and caring for
all Americans.

Few
patients would act our recommendations if their fear of dentistry
kept them from accepting them. A comfortable experience also
improves the likelihood patients will continue with their regular
checkups to keep their new smile healthy.
Besides
the technology that increases treatment comfort, our patients
enjoy high speed DSL in the reception area and in our treatment
rooms during breaks in therapy. Sometimes it is difficult to
drag them away from their surfing. We remodeled our practice
to create an environment far beyond the traditional dental practice.
You will see fresh, bright colors, a relaxing waterfall, classic
looking stone floors throughout the practice and plush carpeting
in the reception area. Many patients also favorably comment
on our calming fish tank.
Tooth Loss Leader Loses
Dr.
Nolan and our entire team of doctors pursue continuing education
to increase their skills in and knowledge of artistic smile
design, comfort advancements and health improvements. Recently,
Dr. Nolan attended courses focused on periodontal disease.
The
therapies taught included how to effectively stop this disease
of the gums and bone that is the leading cause of tooth loss
in adults. Using these improved surgical methods, Dr. Nolan
is able to prevent later stage periodontal (gum) disease from
causing devastating smile damage. However, gum disease left
unchecked can lead to significant tooth loss. Fortunately, we
can stop gum disease at it earliest stages with regular dental
check ups.
Greeting Team Member Profiled
If
you are looking for someone to approach with your dental concerns
and smile dreams, Paula, our receptionist, invites you to call
and talk. She is able to make patients comfortable during their
first call to our practice. Her twenty years in dentistry gives
her the experience to provide the kind of guidance our patients
expect According to Paula, Talking to patients and getting
to know them is the best part of my job. I like to help them
to relax. Our patients also benefit because we have created
a pleasant working environment and like to have a lot of fun.
We like Paula because she loves her job, is never late,
never complains or misses a day of work and is always in a good
mood. Paula spends her days off keeping track of her three children
and riding and taking care of her horses. To get to know the
