Cosmetic Bonding

A procedure in which tooth-colored material is applied to the surface of the tooth. Bonding covers discolorations, repairs chips, breaks and cracks, and fills in gaps. A composite resin filling may be used when only a small amount of tooth structure needs replacement. Composite bonding is one of the most conservative, versatile and affordable ways to aesthetically restore a multitude of cosmetic problems. Bonding can replace unattractive metal fillings, repair fractured teeth, or change the color of stained teeth.

Crowns & Bridges

This type of restoration can replace a single tooth or span a space where one or more teeth have been lost in the dental arch. We replace the missing teeth with custom-designed replacement teeth, which are anchored by crowns to existing healthy tooth structure. We place a crown on a tooth where there is no longer sufficient tooth structure left to place a filling. Both the look and the function of your crown or bridge are considered when choosing the materials most suitable for you.

Dental Implants

Dental implants are used to replace a missing tooth. A post is implanted in the bone where a tooth used to be. After a healing period, a crown is placed on the implant. Implants attach artificial teeth directly to the jaw.

Full Mouth Reconstruction

There are occasions when a patient’s mouth is in very poor condition. It may be due to neglect, periodontal disease, or even occlusal (bite-related) disease. Recurrent decay or multiple crowns and bridges are other reasons. Maybe the patient has bite problems, which have caused excessive wear on the natural teeth and aggravated the temporomandibular joint or jaw joint (TMJ). Under these circumstances, treating one area, or even just one arch, will not resolve the problem. This is when a full-mouth reconstruction is necessary.

These conditions could warrant a rehabilitation of the entire mouth. For clarification, full-mouth reconstruction does not mean surgery. It is a non-surgical, comprehensive approach to getting the upper and lower jaws in proper alignment by removing all decay, repairing all chipped, weakened, and broken teeth. Ultimately, a healthy, attractive smile is created that will last for years.

There isn’t any guesswork when providing the patient with such comprehensive treatment. Properly diagnosed, planned and performed, this type of dentistry has allowed Dr. Nolan to help many patients return to a comfortable, functional, stable oral health.

We believe patients are best served by taking advantage of our comprehensive treatment right from the start. If you are ready for a thorough approach to your smile health, please contact us. Our team will develop a plan that turns complex rehabilitation into comfortable function and life-long enjoyment.

Gum Line Reshaping or Gingival Recontouring

Say goodbye to gummy smiles! A smile can be transformed from “gummy” to perfect using this technique. Eliminating a gummy smile can make a great difference in the appearance of your teeth. Teeth may appear short because the gum tissue is at the wrong height. Gingival re-contouring or sculpting is a simple procedure that takes just minutes. A small amount of local anesthesia is applied and the tissue is artfully sculpted to the desired position. There is no bleeding, no stitches and minimal discomfort. You can even do it during your lunch hour and return to work.

So, if your teeth are too short, or your smile has a gummy appearance, give us a call and see what gingival sculpting can do for you.

Instant Orthodontics can be completed in as little as one appointment. In some cases, it might take two appointments, but certainly not months and years. Crowns, veneers and bonding are just some of the ways that you can have instant straight teeth. Ask Dr. Nolan what would work best for your teeth.

Porcelain Veneers

You can have a beautiful, natural smile in just two appointments

One of the most exciting and transforming techniques performed is with porcelain veneers. Your teeth can be as straight as if you had worn braces, shaped perfectly, no more gaps or cracks, and as white as you want. Porcelain veneers are thin coverings that go over the fronts of your teeth. It is the most conservative approach to create a dazzling, natural, youthful smile. Porcelain veneers give our patients a long lasting solution and are often used instead of braces to achieve a perfect smile.

Veneers are used to restore broken, chipped or crooked teeth and to have whiter teeth. The first appointment involves preparing your teeth to receive veneers and taking an impression of your mouth so that the veneers can be made to perfection. At the second appointment, the veneers are placed on the teeth. You now can smile confidently, and feel comfortable smiling again.

Veneers can last 10-15 years with good care, giving you a beautiful smile for many years. So stop imagining what it would be like to have that perfect smile and call for your consultation today.

Root Canal Therapy

Safely and effectively saves a tooth by cleaning the nerve from the tooth. If a tooth is fractured or has a deep cavity this can damage to the dental pulp (the nerve). The resulting infection leads to an abscess at the root tips. We remove the diseased pulp, and root canals, and seal them to prevent further contamination. The procedure is painless.

Snoring

Are you one of the millions of Americans that snore at night? Well, whether you believe it or not, if you snore, you are breathing through your mouth instead of your nose. There are different causes of snoring. The most common cause is lack of volume, or not enough room in your mouth for your tongue. The causes of loss of volume in your mouth can be several, but usually it is due to wearing of your teeth and insufficient arch size. The back of the tongue then blocks the airway against the back of your throat. Sleep apnea, or stopping breathing for a few seconds, is obviously a more serious problem and is usually caused by enlarged adenoids and tonsils.

Snoring is more common in men than in women. If you or someone you know snores please call us. We can make you a device to help you stop snoring at night.

Smile Whitening or Tooth Whitening

Tooth whitening lightens most discoloration and stains. A dentist should always supervise this procedure following a proper examination and diagnosis of the discolored teeth. There are two types of tooth whitening. Whitening may be completed in the dental office in one hour, or you can whiten your teeth in your own home, while you sleep. It is that simple. We fabricate a set of personalized trays that fit over your teeth. Each night you place a small amount of the lightening gel in the trays, and wake up with a whiter smile. You may also wear the trays during the day. Often the patients say they barely know they are wearing them. Over the counter, home bleaching products can damage your gums and bleach unevenly.

Wisdom Teeth

Although any tooth can jostle its neighbors, the teeth that have the worst reputation are our third molars -- our wisdom teeth. They're the last teeth to come in and often shove other teeth out of their way. Most mouths usually cannot accommodate wisdom teeth, and they end up pressuring the rest of the teeth, disrupting their alignment. They can often cause pain and swelling. Routine X-rays, give us early warning of problem molars and tell us whether they need to be extracted. Like troublesome neighbors, everyone's a lot happier when they've moved out!

Dr. Nolan has been performing oral surgery and extraction of wisdom teeth for over 20 years. For those patients fearful of the dentist, Dr. Nolan often uses “sleep dentistry” for patients when they’re having wisdom teeth extracted. Sleep dentistry is where you are asleep or in a light state of sedation while all your dental work is completed. You awake and the treatment is done. Or, you may choose “nitrous oxide”, commonly called “laughing gas,” to make you feel more relaxed.

Tooth Contouring

Dr. Nolan can re-fashion chipped and cracked teeth and close gaps in one visit using this fresh and esthetic technique. Direct composite resin material is molecularly bonded artistically, layer by layer to your natural tooth structure. This material is selected in shades that will perfectly match adjacent teeth.

White Fillings

The use of tooth colored filling material is not limited to new restorations. There are numerous reasons why older restorations may need replacing, and we can use these newer, more esthetic materials at that time.
