Now a Youthful Smile!

"Fifteen years ago I saw an ad which simply stated, 'We Cater to the Dental Chicken.' Well that's me and I have been a patient of Dr. Nolan's ever since. I had very bad experiences as a child whenever I went to the dentist. My palms would get sweaty just walking into the waiting room. I've required extensive dental work and for the majority of the dental work needed I usually wanted the painless procedure of sleep dentistry. I would be put to sleep and would wake up and the work was complete. I had no discomfort while the work was being done. Dr. Nolan has all the state of the art equipment and the most up-to-date technology. His staff is kind, gentle, and very accommodating to every patient's special needs. The bottom line is I would not have made a second appointment if I did not feel confident and comfortable after my first appointment. I am no longer afraid of going to the dentist. He will be my dentist for as long as he is practicing. If you are looking for a dentist where you will not feel any pain, call Dr. Nolan. He and his staff are great. He has given me a full smile."

Nancy came to us with old dental work on her upper front teeth, a crooked bite and broken teeth in the back of her mouth. She was scared to go to the dentist and had not been to a dentist for many years. We used “sleep sedation” and performed her work while she was asleep. She was a “dental chicken.” About 15 years later, Nancy came back to us and wanted a new smile, whiter teeth and a better bite. She had had a lot of excess gum tissue covering good tooth structure and accentuating a "gummy smile." Her teeth were worn due to a closed bite and heavy grinding. She had worn out her teeth due to her grinding and her bite was very closed down. Her teeth were worn out like a 70 year old even though she was in her early 30’s. Nancy was always very self-conscious of the way her teeth looked and was careful not to smile broadly.

Laser sculpting was performed where a small amount of excess tissue is removed from her upper teeth allowing us to reshape gum tissue on her upper front teeth so that her teeth would look longer for a more youthful and balanced smile. Laser reshaping is a new procedure using a gentle electric top to enhance our results to a very natural and aesthetic level without discomfort. This extra length allowed us to shape her porcelain crowns and veneers in a more proportional manner. After finding a comfortable position for her bite, she was restored to ideal form and function with full mouth restorations utilizing a combination of porcelain crowns, bridges and veneers, all biocompatible, non-metallic restorations.
